Christmas Way Too Early!

I was talking with my dad and little sister the other week and we couldn't believe how early Christmas decorations were being displayed in the store and the tv stations promoting christmas already. I like to enjoy  Fall and celebrate Thanksgiving! Nowadays, Christmas is put out months in advance and crowding out the other holidays and seasons. My dad retelling his childhood of putting up the decorations the day after Thanksgiving and the Christmas Tree in the beginning of December. I remember how excited I used to be after Thanksgiving cause my sisters and I would begin talking of the holidays and counting down the weeks till Christmas was only a few days away. My sisters and I would get so giddy, we'd thought Christmas day would never come!

That was our conversation a couple weeks ago, right? So this week I was on YouTube and you would not believe what I found!

Go on, click the little red play button! Ha ha!

I couldn't believe it! Brandon Heath starting a petition for waiting to start Christmas celebrating after Thanksgiving, the way it should be! If you believe the same way I do--and Brandon--help by signing the petition and spreading the word!
We love Christmas, let's enjoy it and do it right!

To celebrate, the day after Thanksgiving we'll start off from Brandon Heath's new Christmas album
"The Day After Thanksgiving"

I have not heard it, not even a whistle or tune. And it's going to stay that way till the day after Thanksgiving!

Boo Bop Bopbop Bop!

I was listening to Spotify and saw the banner for Disney's 90th Anniversary. Scrolling through the playlist I came across an old song I hadn't heard in a while from one of my favorite movies growing up (I watched it with my sister all the time). Listening to this song not only brought back a lot of good and happy memories and soothed my longing soul but now I see it in a different light as well.

Instead of just a kid and his dragon, I now see it as an uplifting song of our friendship with God!
See, take a look at some of the lyrics!

"We're walking down a road of our own
The rain can never fall
I'm glad I don't have to be alone"

"You know what to say when I want direction
You don't turn away when I need protection
Your voice is the sound of an angel singing
Music I wait to hear
Say it again
And again
Everything seems so new
(Boo Bop Bopbop Bop)
I love you too"

I really love it even more now!
So next time you need a little pep in your step or just sweet reminder your not alone, go ahead and listen to this song and remember that God is always with you!
Maybe you'll even sing along as I do! Ha ha!

"God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!" -- Psalms 46:1-3

Figgy Friday's Spotlight! #2

Draw the curtains. Today's Figgy Friday Spotlight is

"The Girl with the Blue Mask"
by

When I first read the description of this story, I was intrigued to say the least. When it comes to Halloween most people turn to the ghouls and goblins, witches and wizards rather than God.
So to read a story about a girls journey to finding God through her ancestors own story, well who wouldn't want to read that?
The characters are well played out. Isabelle especially. I'm a little fond of Matt myself (shhh, don't tell!) I like how Brandi writes her great-great-great-great-great-great grandmothers journal, introducing more the friends and family that surrounded her during that time and how they came to be without putting too much to bore you but enough to keep your interest peeked. Chapter 8 is by far my favorite journal entry.
I'm excited to say I really am looking forward to reading more of this in the months to come.
Keep up the work Brandi!

Panda, Go Panda!

I was browsing through Hulu.com and I couldn't believe they had this on there (and in English)! I watched this movie--actually it used to be separated into three episodes-- a few years ago and fell in love with it!
It's cute, sweet, and hilarious! A must see for anyone who still bares the little kid in them. <3
You'll love it.

Figgy Friday's Spotlight!

Welcome fellow Figgy's and Newcomers to Figgy Friday's Spotlight!

Every other Friday I'll be pointing the spotlight on a
special story or poem I found by a fellow Figment member!

I'm proud to introduce our very first
Figgy Fiday's Spotlight

The very first time I read this, it brought tears to my eyes. It was beautiful and straight from the heart. It touched my heart so deeply. After reading it, it really made me hope and pray that the husband God has in store for me is like that and our relationship so made and given of Love.
I just have to say, this kid's future wife will be one blessed woman!

Check out more of William Carter's writing by clicking his name linked to his Figment Profile!
This is one incredibly, God given, talented, gifted kid!

"Many waters cannot quench love; neither can rivers drown it. If man tried to buy love with everything he owned, his offer would be utterly despised." Song of Solomn 8:7 (NLT)

The Rain Came Down

Ah Monday's, a peculiar little day of the week, is it not? Some dread it while others it doesn't make the slightest difference to them. Me? It's been peaceful day! The rain was pouring, it was cool, and I got my book in from the Blogging for Books! Oh, did I not mention that before? Hehe!

Starting this week I'm in the the Blogging for Books Program! by Waterbrook Multnomah.

I'll be creating a page specifically for my Blogging For Books where you can read my reviews! And some updates on my progress in the program and more.

The rain man came last night and brought more than just a little drizzle. I thought it was the big bad wolf trying to blow down the house when I first heard it. It sounded like you were outside in the green house, the sounds of rain surrounding you, immersing you in serenity. Sigh. I loved it! (but don't let my grandmother know I said that! ha ha) It got me to thinking though, about all the rain we've had this summer. Practically none stop for at least a month (it seemed). Constant flash floods, one second shiney the next dark and stormy, flooding for weeks. Especially our driveway. I couldn't help but think of the song "Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down!" from Winnie the Pooh that day (and throughout the entire season).
"And the rain rain rain came down down down in rushing, rising riv'lets."
Ha ha, oh what a summer we had this year. I'm so glad for Fall though. It won't be  much longer before Jack Frost comes nipping at our noses! But let's enjoy that another day! It's time I finished this day with a relaxing song while getting comfy cozy with a good book!

And, in case you were wondering what "Snippet's, Whosies, and Whatnots" is, it's where I'll be posting little quotes or sayings or maybe even a piece of a song when I publish a new post the Snippet's will change as well! So be sure to checkout what it will say today. (Currently the Text Widget is having difficulties! I'll get it back up as soon as it will let me save it again)

God bless!
"Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on rock." Matthew 7:25 (NLT)
We are strong in Christ, our foundation is set on him. Keep listening to Him and keep building on that unbreakable rock. Even when it feels like the waves are crashing in around you, about to swallow you whole, just remember He's always there. You'll never have to worry that your house might crash under like a wave on the sand. Because he has you in his strong hold and unfailing arms.

Come and have a seat with me!

"The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes– and ships– and sealing-wax– Of cabbages– and kings." ~ Lewis Carroll

Hello Oysters! Just kidding. Welcome Friends and Friends To Be! I have to take a deep breath for a moment here...

Whew, I'm better now. This is my first time blogging anything so I'm a little bit nervous but I think these jitters are really coming from the excitement I'm feeling! I don't wan to tell you what to expecting from this blog, it kind of ruins the fun and surprise, does it not? It doesn't? Are you sure? Okay, maybe I should give a little insight on what you can look forward to. Oh oh oh! Before that, let me introduce myself!

I'm Victoria. Aka: Miss Tadoodles. I was trying to come up with a name for my blog when I remembered the username my dad came up with for my very first email address ten years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!) and I just knew it was the name to use for my blog. So thank you dad!
I'm a Jesus loving freak! But I'm still making my journey. By myself I am not perfect, but in Christ I am made whole. I'm a writer, a book lover, a music-a-holic and tv/movie watcher! You might think I'm a bit crazy but my friends know I'm insane!

My hope for this blog is that it will encourage, uplift, and inspire! That it will bring a smile to your face or a laugh into your day. To share things that will reach up and touch your heart!

So welcome to Miss Tadoodles Corner! It's just the beginning!
